Denver Crumpler the truely great gospel music tenor and hall of famer
Denver Crumpler and his family: Bobby, Denver, Dale, Frankie and Charlotte.
Gospel singing was nothing new to people of this part of the country, and Denver was singing
in the churches and all day singings around his home before he even began to wear long pants.
With the encouragement of his family he soon launched out on the work that was to be his life's
profession, singing gospel songs. As a young man, he learned to play the guitar and used it
in most of his early singing. In the picture (BOTTOM-LEFT) is one of the early groups.

Denver sang with and you will notice that he is also playing the accompaniment for the group
on the guitar. As radio was the coming thing at that time. It was not long before Denver was
singing on the stations around his part of the country and from here began to branch out
to other sections of the country. Shreveport, La., was one of the first places to call on
the singing voice of this young Tenor singer.
Later Denver was to sing with the Melody Boys of Little Rock, Ark., and several others,
then to the group that was to become one of the best known groups in Gospel music
during their time, the Rangers Quartet.
